A three-sport athlete at Fredonia State, Pete Criscione lettered in varsity soccer, basketball, and baseball. A fullback on the soccer team, he was selected to the All New York State team in 1960. Mr. Criscione co-captained both basketball and baseball and was a four-year starter with the college's baseball team. During each of his four years, he hit an incredible .420 or above. His .553 batting average once stood as the Fredonia State all-time single-season batting record. After graduation, Mr. Criscione went on to coach baseball at Fredonia High School. His teams captured five Section VI titles, one Super-Sectional championship, and one Far West Regional championship at the time of his induction in 1990. He was the winningest coach in Fredonia High School history. He graduated in 1961 with a bachelor's in Elementary Education and earned a master's in Education from Fredonia State in 1965.
