Hall of Fame
The following information was taken from the Hall of Fame program published at the time of induction. Some editing was required:
Timothy L Gallineau was a member of the Inaugural Class inducted into the Fredonia State Athletics Hall of Fame. The ceremony was held Sat., Sept. 27, 1986, at the Topiary Tree in the Campus Center.
A starter in each of the sports in which he participated, Mr. Gallineau earned 10 varsity letters during his career at Fredonia State. As a three-year varsity starter, he averaged close to 13 points per game and twice captained the men's basketball team. He scored a career-high 30 points on Feb. 7, 1961 vs. Roberts Wesleyan while making a school-record 16 free throws on 21 tries, also a school record. As a four-year starter with the baseball team, he carried a .300 plus batting average and led the team in stolen bases. He captained that team his senior year. He was a member of the college's first intercollegiate men's soccer team and held the school scoring record for 16 years, having scored 29 goals in 27 games. He was a First Team All-Conference selectee during the 1960 season.
A 1962 graduate, Mr. Gallineau earned a Fredonia State degree in Elementary Education before earning a master's from Buffalo State College and a doctorate from the University of Akron. At the time of his induction, he was serving as vice president for student development at St. Bonaventure University.
