Strength & Conditioning

Fredonia Blue Devil Athletics joined the growing trend in college athletic training by adding a full-time strength and conditioning coach prior to the start of the 2016-17 academic year.

Jon-Ryan Maloney was appointed to the position after serving in volunteer and part-time roles for several seasons with the Blue Devils. With his guidance, Fredonia's student-athletes have access to a strength and conditioning regime throughout the academic year. In-season athletes participate as part of their normal practice routine. Out-of-season athletes train voluntarily in smaller groups as their busy academic schedules allow.

Coach Maloney's strength and conditioning sessions focus on fundamental movement patterns essential to any sport: squatting, hinging, pushing, pulling, rotating, running, sprinting, jumping, and landing. Developing strength with these movements leads naturally to fewer injuries and better performances.
