One of the best strikers even to play at Fredonia State, the high-scoring Jeffrey Hammond led the Blue Devils to one of the most successful four-year stretches in school history in any sport. During his four-year collegiate career, Mr. Hammond was part of an impressive 60-12-9 record during which the Blue Devils won two SUNYAC championships, secured three NCAA post-season tournament bids, and made it to the NCAA Division III final four. A two-time team captain, Mr. Hammond was Fredonia State's all-time career scoring leader at the time of his induction. In addition to being twice honored as an All-SUNYAC performer (1984 and 1986), Mr. Hammond was selected to the All New York State soccer team in 1986 after accumulating 27 points. That same year Mr. Hammond was named Fredonia State's Senior Athlete of the Year for having led the Blue Devils to a 19-2-1 record and a top five national ranking. He graduated in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and added a master's degree from SUNY Cortland in 1991. At the time of his induction, Mr. Hammond was working as a teacher and coach at Fayetteville-Manlius High School.
