Hall of Fame

A multi-talented athlete who participated in women's basketball, cross country, and track & field, Sherri Ervin's accomplishments on the court were extraordinary -- considering she only competed for three years when ROTC duties compelled her to sit out her junior year. A three-time All SUNYAC selection in basketball, she earned honored mentions her freshman (1989) and sophomore (1990) years and First Team honors as a senior (1992). Nationally ranked in assists, she finished fifth in the nation in 1989 and 14th in 1990. During her Blue Devil career, she ranked first in all three assist categories -- game (17), season (169), and career (471) as well as first in steals in a game (13). Her 414 rebounds and 528 points also ranked her among Fredonia State's career leaders when she was inducted in 1999. A 5' 3" guard, Ms. Ervin served as co-captain in her senior year. She competed for three years on the cross country and outdoor track teams and for one season on the indoor track team. As a freshman, she ran the second leg on the 1,600-meter relay team that won the 1989 NYSWCAA outdoor meet. During her junior year, she held school records in both the indoor and outdoor 4 00 meters. She graduated in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in Biology and received a medical doctorate in 1996 from New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. She was serving as a physician in the U.S. Army in Fort Lee, Va., at the time of her induction.Â
