1972 Mens Soccer / Team of Distinction

The 1972 Men’s Soccer, coached by Dr. Tom Prevet, finished with a 12-5-1 record to become the first Fredonia men’s soccer team with double-digit wins. It was also the first team in program history to win a post-season tournament game, a 3-0 win over Roberts Wesleyan in the regional round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics tournament.

That was followed with a 2-1 win over Drew University to become the first Fredonia State team to advance to the NAIA national tournament.

Hall of Fame members from that team are Ken Supple, Mike Lawlor, Jim Lawlor, and Coach Prevet.
