A four-year letterman in men's basketball, Amos Goodwine was known for his ballhandling and playmaking as well as his outstanding defensive ability. As a four-year starter at the point guard position, Mr. Goodwin ran the show. He called the offense, drew the toughest defensive assignment, and was the personality that held the team together. In addition to being one of the top assist men in the conference, Mr. Goodwine was also a capable scorer (833 points). At the time of his induction in 1992, he ranked among Fredonia State's top five career assist leaders and was among the school's top 15 all-time scorers. A two-time captain, Mr. Goodwine earned All SUNYAC honors at the end of his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, and was voted the team's most valuable player after his senior season. He earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1972 and was employed as the director of employment and training for the Greater Erie (Pa.) Community Action Committee at the time of his induction.
