The following information was taken from the Hall of Fame program published at the time of induction. Some editing was required:

A four-year letterman with the Blue Devil basketball team, Dean Bedgar held the college's career scoring record for nearly a decade. During his collegiate career, Mr. Bedgar scored 1,044 points and pulled down 937 rebounds. Almost 25 years later, he still ranked third on Fredonia's all-time rebound list and fourth on the all-time scoring list. His 27 rebounds in one game was a single-game rebound record for several years. At the time of his induction, Mr. Bedgar was one of only five players to have scored 1,000 points in a Blue Devil uniform. He earned two Fredonia State degrees -- a bachelor's in Elementary Education in 1963 and a master's in 1974. He was working as an elementary education principal in the West Leyden (N.Y.) School District at the time of his induction.
