Hall of Fame
The following information was taken from the Hall of Fame program published at the time of induction. Some editing was required:
A two-time MVP and four-year letterwinner on the women's track team, Barbara Rickard set indoor records in the 40-, 50-, and 60-meter hurdles as well as the 300-meter run. In indoor track, she set school records in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles that still stood at the time of her induction in 1991. A two-time co-captain, Ms. Rickard qualified for state and regional competition in several events and competed in the NCAA nationals in the 400-meter hurdles. A well-rounded athlete, she competed in a number of intramural sports in addition to playing first doubles on the women's varsity tennis team. In 1981, Ms. Rickard received the Agnes K. Michaels Award given annually to the college's top female athlete. A 1981 graduate, she earned a degree in Medical Illustration and was working as an advertising design consultant in Buffalo, N.Y., at the time of her induction.
