FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State softball team was selected to finish in fifth place in a pre-season poll of SUNYAC coaches. The Devils finished fourth a year ago, and fell to Oneonta in the SUNYAC Tournament. The team has made the conference tournament in each of the past two seasons under head coach Tony Cicarello.
Cortland (80 points) was selected as the top team. Only two points separated Oneonta (66), Buffalo State (65), and New Paltz (64). The Devils were next with 50 points, ahead of Plattsburgh, Oswego, Potsdam, Morrisville, and Canton.
