BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Things started off promisingly for the Fredonia State men's soccer team when
Freddie Butler scored the game's first goal 10:25 into the action. However, three Bryant & Stratton scores over a 12-minute span of the first half put the Bobcats in control of the game.
Goals in the 20th, 24th, and 32nd minutes made it a 3-1 contest.
The Bobcats tacked on one more in the second half to give the final.
Jack Phelan made five saves in goal for Fredonia State. Benjamin Hafner made three save for the Bobcats. In addition, he made a diving stop on a penalty kick near the end of the first half to preserve a 3-1 lead at the time.
In the other match of the day, Buffalo State trounced Alfred, 7-1. Manu Prieto scored a hat trick for the Bengals.
Tomorrow, the Devils take on Alfred University at 3 p.m. at University Stadium. Buffalo State will face of against Bryant & Stratton at the same time on the turf field.
