FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State baseball season will open a day earlier than originally scheduled when the team travels to Westminster College on Thursday for a 1 p.m. doubleheader. The Devils will be coached by Jordan Basile in an 'official' capacity as he was named the full-time head coach this summer after serving as the interim boss last year. Basile is a 2009 graduate of Fredonia State and was inducted into its Hall of Fame this past fall.

The team will be captained by Jordan Maher, Jake Wentland, and Matt Wojcik. After graduating over a dozen seniors from last year, the team will have a different look this season. Basile's first recruiting class yielded 19 new faces.

The Devils are scheduled to travel to Houghton next Tuesday before embarking on the annual Spring Trip to Florida.
