FREDONIA N.Y.-- The Fredonia men's and women's basketball teams will take on Geneseo Tuesday in the first SUNYAC home game of the 2014-15 season for the Blue Devils. A new conference-wide format has the men playing first with tipoff moved up to 5:30 p.m. The women will follow with a 7:30 start.
The men enter the fray at 0-2 in the SUNYAC and 1-5 overall. The young squad is led by freshman
Ian Helps (Bronx, N.Y. / Greater New York Academy) with 14.7 points and 9.3 boards per game, and junior transfer
Kyree Hull (Peekskill, N.Y. / Peekskill) at 10.8 ppg and 4.8 rpg.
Tuesday is the first SUNYAC contest for the 4-3 Knights. Â
The Fredonia women will have revenge on their minds. Geneseo dropped the Devils three times last season, including a slim 55-52 loss in the first round of the SUNYAC playoffs.
The Devils enter the night at 3-5 overall and 0-2 in the SUNYAC. They are coming off an exciting 60-57 win over Medaille on Saturday. Geneseo will bring in a 4-3 overall record in to its first SUNYAC contest of the season.
Against the Mavericks, freshman
Jacque Law (Machias, N.Y. / Pioneer) came off the bench to lead the team with 14 points. The freshman is now averaging 10.0 ppg for the Blue Devils.
Sabrina Macaulay (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) leads the Devils with 8.6 rebounds while chipping in 12.3 ppg.
