BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Fredonia State finished fifth among nine collegiate teams in the men's 5K at the Brockport Tom Balon Alumni Classic once all Brockport Alumni runners were removed from the scoring and placement lists.

Junior Stephen Hallberg led the Blue Devils with a 16th‑place collegiate finish, running 16:51.9. He was followed by Finnegan Fadale in 26th (17:15.9) and Edward Jourdan in 28th (17:17.3). The scoring five were completed by Sean Moser in 40th (18:03.0) and Lucas Peterson‑Volz in 41st (18:04.7).

Fredonia's displacers, Kevin Moser (52nd collegiate) and Adam Rick (57th collegiate), helped secure a 1:12.9 spread, a 17:30.6 team average, and a 1:27:32.7 total time for the scoring group. There were 152 finishers with a winning time of 16:12.0 among collegiate runners only.

The race at Sweden Town Park in Brockport, N.Y. The women's 5K was held before the men's race.

Head Coach Tom Wilson's take: "It was not what we were hoping for overall. It's still very early in our training. The course conditions were tough, not an excuse, just facts. The women were strong, and the men had some high points. Sean Moser, Eddy Jourden, and Finn Fadale really worked well together. There's still lots of work ahead for this team."
