OSWEGO, N.Y. – Ryan Ameis scored the lone goal and Thomas McDonald recorded five saves as the Fredonia men's soccer team earned a 1-0 SUNYAC victory over Oswego State on Wednesday afternoon at Laker Turf Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, Fredonia wasted little time breaking through following intermission. Just 1:09 into the second half, Ameis found the back of the net off an assist from Jackson Kuby for his first goal of the season.
Fredonia generated 10 shots and seven corner kicks in the contest while limiting Oswego State to nine shots. The Lakers applied pressure throughout the second half, but McDonald was equal to the task, making three of his five saves after halftime to preserve the shutout.
The win moves the Blue Devils to 4-2-4 overall and 2-0 in SUNYAC play.
