FREDONIA, N.Y. — A second-half goal by Brendan Adams proved to be the difference as Fredonia defeated Alfred State, 1-0, in SUNYAC men's soccer action Saturday afternoon at University Stadium.
After a scoreless opening half, Fredonia broke through in the 58th minute. Dylan McAfee sent a pass into the attacking third that found Adams, who finished for his second goal of the season. The tally stood as the game's lone goal as the Blue Devils improved to 5-2-4 overall and 3-0-0 in conference play.
Fredonia State controlled much of the play throughout the afternoon, holding a 7-2 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. The Blue Devils put two shots on target, while Alfred State managed just one.
In goal, Thomas McDonald earned the victory for the Blue Devils with one save, recording his fifth shutout of the season.
