MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Fredonia State men's soccer team opened SUNYAC competition with a 2-1 road victory over SUNY Morrisville on Saturday afternoon at Drake Field.
Lee Hartke and Brendan Adams had goals for the Blue Devils (3-2-4, 1-0-0). Jackson Kuby, Ryan Ameis and Dylan McAfee were credited with assists.
Morrisville struck first in the 17th minute when Musab Kamaldeen for a 1-0 Mustangs lead before Hartke and Adams responded with goals 66 seconds apart.
Hartke evened the score at 1-1 in the 22nd minute, finishing a cross from Jackson Kuby on the goal line. Then, Adams finished a ball in the six-yard box following a corner kick, with Ryan Ameis and Dylan McAfee earning assists on the eventual game-winning goal.
Goalkeeper Thomas McDonald earned the victory, making two saves over 90 minutes.
