BOXSCORE CORTLAND, N.Y. — Allison Bartoszek secured Fredonia State's lone victory Saturday as the Blue Devils women's tennis dropped a 6-1 decision to Plattsburgh in SUNYAC women's tennis action. Bartoszek earned a straight-set win at third singles to account for Fredonia's point.

Plattsburgh took control early by sweeping all three doubles matches. The closest contest came at second doubles, where Bartoszek and Amelia Stathatos battled before falling 6-4.

Bartoszek highlighted the day for the Blue Devils in singles play, defeating Carmen Marino in convincing fashion, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 3 singles.

"It was quite a battle," Devils coach Jane Gens said. "(No. 1 singles player) Lucy Prevet played outstanding. It was just a matter of a few points to convert games. The level of play has gone up so much since last year. Everybody won games. Everyone fought hard."
