BUFFALO, N.Y.  — Fredonia State was swept in a SUNYAC doubleheader at Buffalo State on Saturday, dropping 1–0 and 4–0 decisions in the latest installment of the Battle by the Lake series.

In the opener, junior right‑hander Kendall Phillips took a hard‑luck loss, allowing only an unearned run in a complete game. She worked out of a first‑inning jam with a 3B‑to‑2B‑to‑3B double play, started and finished by Kayla Lynn with Brooke Caldwell recording the middle out. Fredonia's lone base runner was an infield single by Lynn in the seventh; she advanced to second on a sacrifice before a foul‑out ended the game.

In Game 2, the Blue Devils were limited to three singles and shut out again. Buffalo State scored in the first and added two runs in the fourth and another in the fifth. Sabrina Edwards‑Smith threw a complete game for the Blue Devils, allowing four runs on 10 hits. Offensively, Lynn, Maddie DeVore, and Deanna North each singled, with Lynn collecting a hit in both games.

The Blue Devils fall to 5–18 overall and 0–4 in SUNYAC play. They are back in action with a home doubleheader Tuesday vs. Rochester Institute of Technology.
