FREDONIA, N.Y. --
Aliyah Hopkins and
Martin Garza were named the Fredonia State Female and Male Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Hopkins had a strong two-game performance, shooting 50 percent from the field (10-20) while scoring 32 points (16.0 ppg). She also controlled the glass with 20 rebounds (10.0 rpg) and added four assists and four steals.
Garza put together a strong two-game stretch, shooting 53 percent from the field (19-36) while totaling 48 points (24.0 ppg) with 13 rebounds, nine assists, and a 4.5 assist-to-turnover ratio. He highlighted the performance by hitting the game-winning basket in the closing seconds against Potsdam.
Other Notables:
Grace Alexander - Named the SUNYAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 19 points, five assists and four rebounds as the team went 2-0 in SUNYAC play.
Talon Rowland and
Jordan Lockett - Both set school records at Boston University. Rowland broke the 400m record with a time of 48.92 seconds. Lockett's
200m time of 21.99 seconds is now the school's top time.
Owen Cross - Scored the game-winning goal in overtime on Friday's 4-3 win during the annual Pink the Rink game.
