FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team gave Oswego a run for its money, but could not hold a fourth-quarter lead, falling 77-66 to Oswego on Saturday.
Martin Garza led the Devils with 18 points and eight rebounds. Ethan Sokolowksi added 12 points and seven rebounds, and
Stevie Williams had 11 points and eight rebounds.
After trailing 30-26 at the half, Fredonia State's
Brian Kopp scored the first six points of the second half, using a three pointer and a three-point play to tie the game at 30. Kopp would finish with nine points.
The teams would go back and fourth a few times, when Garza nailed a three pointer to tie the game at 40-all.
Oswego would score the next three points and maintain the lead for the balance of the game.
The Lakers (14-3 / 8-2 SUNYAC) were led by Deacon Judd with 24 points.
The Devils outrebonded the Lakers 31-28. They would shoot a solid 52 percent from the floor for the game.
The Devils are back home on Tuesday when they take on Morrisville as part of a women's/men's doubleheader.
