MORRISVILLE, N.Y. -- The Devils got plenty of offense, but could not hold back the Morrisville attack, falling 93-86 on Tuesday evening.
Martin Garza again had the hot hand, going for 28 points including 4-6 from three-point range to pace the Devils.
Brian Kopp added 22 points with six three-point buckets and dished out seven assists.
Ethan Sokolowski had a solid all-around game with 10 points, nine rebounds, and six assists.
Morrisville (4-9 / 3-3 SUNYAC) had four players in double digits, led by Jalyn Moorhead with 21 points and Tony Borges with 16.
The early going was back-and-forth. A layup by
Antonio Andrews tied the game at 25-all. From there, the Devils would build a lead and go up 41-34 at the half.
The Devils seemed to be in control of the game. They led by 18 points, 63-45, with 14:10 left to play in the game. Morrisville began to roll and would go on a 17-2 run to cut the lead to three points, 65-62.
They would eventually take a one-point lead at the 7:55 mark, going up 72-71. The Devils would twice tie the game, but could not get over the hump with the Mustangs closing out the game.
The Devils shot 10-21 from three-point range and held the edge in rebounds, 46-37.
Next up for the Devils (1-11 / 1-4 SUNYAC) is home contest vs. New Paltz on Friday. It is the first of six-straight home games for the Devils.
