MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Mckenna Szmarz scored her first collegiate goal, and it was enough for the Fredonia State women's soccer team to take down the Allegheny Gators, 1-0, on Saturday. 

Szmarz's goal came with five minutes left in the first half. Fellow freshman Anna Ratchuk had her second assist of the season. 

Casey Fetzner made six saves for the shutout. 

Allegheny had 19 shots, and the Devils had 18. Shots on goal were 6-5 in favor of the Gators. Both teams had five corner kicks.

The Devils improve to 2-2-2, while the Gators drop to 0-4-2.
