FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's soccer team wasted little time in scoring, getting its first of six goals less than three minute into the game, as they downed visiting Canton, 6-0, on Saturday. The win evens the Devils' SUNYAC record at 1-1, and they improve to 3-4-2 overall.
Bronwyn Madden was assisted by Kerrigan Driscoll 2:50 into the game. After a goal by
Allie Trombley -- also assisted by Driscoll -- Madden scored again to make it 3-0 in favor of Fredonia State.
Goals by Makenna Szmarz and
Haley Drinon made it 5-0 by the half.
Grace Mackey tacked on the final goal in the second half.
Anna Ratchuk and
Gabby Irwin also had an assist apiece.
Abby Szymkowiak was credited with the shutout while making one save.
Canton falls to 0-9 and 0-1 in the conference.
The Devils play host to Nazareth in a non-conference tilt on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
