CORTLAND, N.Y -- The Fredonia State women's tennis team was defeated 7-0 by the Plattsburgh State Cardinals on Friday at Cortland.

Allison Bartoszek fell 6-2. In the No 2. spot

Amelia Stathatos battled hard but came up short with a score of 6-3. To close doubles competition, the team of

Rylyn Tunstall fell 6-0, giving the Cardinals the 1-0 edge to start.
In singles action Plattsburgh continued to role. Prevet playing in the No 1 match took Plattsburgh's Jacklin Mitchell to the brink with a thrilling three set performance but ultimately fell 6-3, 3-6, 10-6." Lucy played very steady", noted Head Coach Jane Gens "she played her third set to a ten point tiebreaker and it was just a matter of a few points to determine the match." In No 2 singles Farr was defeated by Ava Carey 6-1,6-1.
In No 3 singles, Bartoszek came up short against Ava Perry in a 6-2, 7-5. Kristy Cantwell secured a 6-2, 6-2 victory in No 4 singles over Solazzo as well. In No 5 singles, Carmen Marino posted.a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Stathatos and to close out the match Marena Tubo edged out Tunstall and claimed a 6-1,6-1 victory.
Fredonia State stays in Cortland and will look to bounce back against New Paltz Saturday September 20th at 11:00 a.m.
