ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State baseball team dropped a 5-4 contest at Oneonta on Saturday. The Devils led 4-3 going into the bottom of the ninth, when three hits and a walk would result in a pair of runs for the host Red Dragons.
Kyle Tedford and
Christian Cabrera both had two hits, as the Devils were held to six safeties as a team. Tedford scored twice, and Cabrera drove in three.
Morgan Zientara started for the Devils and went six innings, giving up three unearned run in the no decision.
Mike Protz went 1 1/3 innings without giving up a run, and
Peyton Ahlstrom took the loss in relief, going 1 1/3 giving up two runs.
Oneonta was paced by Joseph Monserrat with three of the Dragon's nine hits. Joshua Marton took the win, going 2 2/3 innings without allowing a run.
The Devils are scheduled to take on Pitt-Greensburg at Ludwig Field on Tuesday.
