FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team could not hang on in a 74-71 loss to Morrisville on Tuesday evening in Dods Hall. The game was tied at 31 at the half, and would be tied at 64 with just over two minutes to play. Morrisville out-rebounded the Devils by one, 34-33, and the Devils nailed one more three pointer, 7-6, than the Mustangs.
Fredonia State got identical performances out of
Brandon Kulakowski and
Tyrese Fuller with 17 points and 10 rebounds apiece. Fuller added four assists, and Kulakowski had pair of steals.
Keenan Roberts Jr. added 10 points.
Morrisville was paced by Kareem Sanders with 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Devils led most of the first half, with their biggest advantage coming at 24-17 before the Mustangs would tie the game at the break.
The Mustangs held the lead most of the second half, enjoying an 11-point lead, 58-47, with just under eight minutes left in the game.
Fredonia State then went on a 17-6 run, with five points each from
Malik Jemison and Fuller during that stretch, to tie things at 64. That's as close as they would get, as the Mustangs pulled away at the end.
The Devils travel to Buffalo State on Friday.
