HOUGHTON, N.Y. --
Cara Pellechia picked up where she left off last year, and took first place in the pole vault at the season-opening meet at Houghton. She cleared 3.50m, while freshman teammate
Emily Cardinale was third, clearing 3.05m.
Pellechia also had a strong showing in the 60m dash, finishing fifth out of 43 runners in a time of 8.07 seconds.
Brayton Tripi had success in a pair of events -- third in the high jump at 1.54m, and ninth in the long jump at 4.81m.
The Devils had a few other Top 10 performances.
Yauvani Liddelow was fifth in the triple jump at 10.63 m, and
Kira Davidson was ninth at 9.84m.
Lexi Sheen was tenth in the 60m hurdles in a time of 10.25
The Devils had strong showings in both relays. The team was second in the 4x200 at 1:52.38. Pellechia, Tripi, Sheen, and
Allison Bartoszek made up that squad.

Hazel Bache,
Shona Boehmer, and
Evelyn Zdrojewski were fourth in the 4x400 in a time of 1:52.38.
