PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The night started promisingly for Fredonia State as they jumped out to a 7-0 lead at Plattsburgh. However, the Cardinals quickly recovered and went on a 15-0 run to take the lead and eventual command of the game in a 94-78 win over the Devils.
Victor Robinson led Fredonia State with 23 points, and
Martin Garza had 22.
Stevie Williams had 10 rebounds.
After its initial run, Plattsburgh kept up the pace, and would lead 55-30 by halftime. Jaiden Gladney and Irwayne Connell Jr. did most of the work, with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Robinson had 11 for the Devils.
With Plattsburgh up 93-67, the Devils closed the game on an 11-1 run, with Garza collecting all 11 points.
The Devils nailed 10 three pointers, with Garza collecting five. Plattsburgh outrebounded the Devils, 41-37.
Th Cardinals (3-3/1-0 SUNYAC) were led by Reem Welch with 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Gladney finished with 17.
The Devils (0-6/0-1 SUNYAC) head to Potsdam for a 4 p.m. tipoff on Saturday.
