FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team used a balanced attack to hand visiting Thiel College a 71-44 loss on Friday.
Grace Alexander led a trio of Devils in double digits with 14 points. She added eight rebounds and a team-high four assists.
Junior
Jakiera Stackhouse made her Fredonia State debut one rebound shy of a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.
Payton Gilbert added 11 points.
After Thiel tied the game at 5-5, the Blue Devil offense kicked in, going on a 16-2 run. They would eventually take a 27-10 lead after one quarter, then 39-19 by the half. Thiel would get no closer than 18 points in the second half.
Jayssa Snelick and
Annika Andersen both chipped in nine points for Fredonia State.
Issy Green led Thiel with 14 points.
The Devils are back home next Wednesday as part of a women's/men's doubleheader.
