PITTSBURGH, Penn. -- Chatham scored the games's first five goals en route to a 5-1 win over the Fredonia State men's hockey team on Friday afternoon. The Devils were finally able to score in the final 12 seconds of the game.
Five different Cougars scored for the host team, with Nick Cyprian and Bekk McClaine each garnering a goal and an assist. Chatham came out strong in the first period with three goals over the game's first 17 minutes. Goaltender Nikolas Trakakis just missed earning the shutout with 32 saves.
Fredonia State's lone tally came when
Alexis Gonzalez-Lambert was assisted by
Carson Ricci and
Keenan McNeill late in the game.
Charles-Anthony Barbeau made 36 saves while surrendering five scores, one of which came on a power play.
The Devils are now 0-4, and Chatham moves to 3-0. Both teams will head north to Fredonia for a 7 p.m. game on Saturday at Steele Hall.
