NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- There was only one shot on goal the entire game -- coming on a penalty kick -- and the New Paltz Hawks made use of it, claiming a 1-0 over the Fredonia State men's soccer team on Saturday.
The score came on the penalty kick in the 63rd minute. Bryan Lizama connected for his second goal of the season.
Overall, New Paltz held a 10-3 lead in shots.
Thomas McDonald was in net for the Devils, and Matt Katz had the shutout for New Paltz.
New Paltz improves to 7-2-2 and 2-1 in the SUNYAC.
The Devils (5-3-3 / 2-1) head to Buffalo State on Wednesday.
