FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's hockey team battled Cortland in an entertaining game in Steele Hall on Saturday, but fell 3-2 thanks to a late power-play goal by the visitors.
Ryan Bailey had both goals for the Devils, and
Antoine St. Onge had both assists.
Bailey scored the only goal of the first period, staking the Devils to a 1-0 lead. At 8:36 into the game, he used a St. Onge assist to beat Cortland goaltender Ronan Mobley.
Cortland took the lead with a pair of second-period scores. Nate Berke and Domenic Settino each scored.
Bailey wasted no time in finding the net in the third quarter, scoring 21 seconds in. St. Onge brought the puck up the ice in a three-on-three rush and slipped it to Bailey for the score, making it a 2-2 game.
Midway through the third period, Cortland used a power play goal to go on top, 3-2. The Red Dragons had a 5-on-3 opportunity, and found the net just a tick after the first penalty expired. Colby Seitz scored following a flurry in front of the net.

The Devils are back home next weekend with the annual Pink the Rink game on Friday, Feb. 7th. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. vs. the Oswego Lakers.
