CANTON, N.Y. -- A last-second three-point attempt just missed the mark as the Fredonia State women's basketball team fell short, 85-82, on Friday. Grace Alexander scored 19 points and Payton Gilbert added 18 to pace the Blue Devils. 

Fredonia State would begin the final frame with a 67-66 lead. They led by as many as six points in the fourth quarter. 

Canton took the lead, 82-81, on a jumper by Chelsie Tyler with 1:14 remaining. The Roos would hold the Devils scoreless from there, and tacked on two free throws in the closing seconds to secure the win.

Mary Culeton finished with 11 rebounds and five assists. Kaylyn Sweeney added 10 points. 

Canton got the bulk of its offense from Sierra Pabo with 27 points and Natalie Bartle with 25.

The Devils head to Oswego for a 2 p.m. start on Saturday.
