FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Geneseo men's hockey team got off to a quick start and never looked back in an 9-2 win over Fredonia State on Saturday.
Antoine St. Onge and
Nolan Ring scored for the Devils.
Geneseo had three first-period goals and were up 7-0 before St. Onge got the Devils on the board with 2:45 left in the second.
Ryan Bailey and
Riley See assisted.
Nolan Ring scored unassisted late in the third.
Jameson Kaine took the loss in net, giving up five goals while facing 26 shots. He was relieved by
Charles-Anthony Barbeau midway through the second period. Barbeau finished with 18 saves and four goals allowed.
Geneseo's Jacob Torgner had 31 saves and gave up a pair of scores.
Geneseo, ranked No. 2 in the most recent USCHO poll, got goals from eight different players. Filip Wiberg had two goals and Cooper Fensterstock had three assists.
Next up for the Devils is No. 1 ranked Hobart. They play host to the Statesmen next Saturday, Jan. 18th at 4 p.m.in Steele Hall.
