FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's soccer team dominated the SUNY Canton Kangaroos on Saturday by a final score of 9-0.
Bronwyn Madden had a hattrick and
Katie Sellers scored twice to lead the offensive attack.
Scoring started in the 13th minute thanks to
Gabby Irwin who carved her way through the defense from midfield.
Grace Auer scored the Blue Devils' second goal off a penalty kick in the 16th minute.
Kerrigan Driskell scored her first collegiate goal beating her defender to face the goalkeeper one on one. The Blue Devils' fourth goal was scored by Madden and assisted by
Alyssa Sabato and
Brooke Grazen, coming in the 26th minute. One minute later, Sellers found the back of the net for her fifth goal on the season, assisted by Irwin.
In the 39th minute Madden found the back of the net for the second time with an assist by Maddy Payne.
Madden completed her hattrick in the first half with assists from Payne and
Lily Nila.
Sellers would start the second half scoring in the 61st minute and was assisted by Payne and Auer. The ninth-and-final Blue Devil goal would come thanks to
Grace Mackey in the 71st minute.
Abby Szymkowiak had four saves in the contest as Fredonia State improves to 5-4-0.
The Blue Devils are back home on Tuesday, October 1st, against Hilbert College with a start time scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
