ERIE, Pa. -- The Fredonia State women's soccer team took on a ranked Penn State Behrend club on Tuesday, dropping a 3-1 contest.
The Lions scored in the fourth minute and again in the 31st minute, taking a 2-0 lead into the half. They held a 4-1 advantage in shots on goal.
Bronwyn Madden scored for Fredonia State in the 62nd minute to make it a 2-1 game. Maddy Payne assisted.
Behrend's Trinity Pretash would up the lead to 3-1 in the 72nd minute with her second goal of the game to finish the scoring.
Abby Szymkowiak made six saves for the Blue Devils. Her counterpart for the Lions, Riley Morningster, made one save.
The Lions improve to 5-1, while the Devils fall to 4-3.
The Devils open play this weekend with a home contest vs. Plattsburgh on Saturday at 1:00.
