FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's soccer team will play in two early-season tournaments among its 18 regular-season games this year. The season kicks off at the Penn State Behrend Tournament where they take on John Carroll University on Saturday, Aug. 31, then Elmira on Sunday, Sept. 1st. The Devils play host to the annual Blue Devil Classic on Sept. 6-7. This year they take on Utica and Houghton. Oswego will also participate, but the two schools will not meet until Oct. 5 in Fredonia.

The team travels to local and SUNYAC rival Buffalo State on Oct. 9 with points for the Battle by the Lake at stake.

Conference play will look a bit different than the past few decades. Gone are Geneseo and Brockport, moving to the Empire 8, and new to the conference are SUNY Canton and Morrisville State. There are still nine SUNYAC games to complete league play.  If the Devils earn a post-season berth as one of the top six seeds, the tournament would commence on Nov. 2.
