CLERMONT, Fla. --The Fredonia State Blue Devils softball team dropped two games on Sunday to Augsburg and Springfield. In game one, the Devils fell to Augsburg seven to one and loose 11-0 to Springfield.
Game 1 vs. Augsburg
Augsburg, with runners on first and second scored first with Libby Moore hitting a double and driving a run in. Then, with the bases loaded, a walk brought in another run for Augsburg. A single from Katie Manecke lead to another score, pushing the lead to 3-0 at the top of the second.Â
The Devils managed to score in the bottom of the second withÂ
Alyssa Santiago hitting a double to right field and
Avery Hill singled to put the Devils on the scoreboard.Â
Fredonia State was be held scoreless throughout the remainder of the game with Augsburg securing four runs in the sixth to earn the seven to one victory.Â
Santiago would finish finish the game going 2-3 with one double and one run.Â
Kayla Jo Lynn would hit 1-2 and
Avery Hill went 1-3.
Game 2 vs. Springfield
After scoring one run in the first, the Pride erupted for five runs in the bottom of the second, then go for three more runs in the third and a pair in the fourth.
Megan Guidry registered the only hit for the Devils going 1-2.Â
The Devils will look to bounce back against Farmingdale State College at 9:00 a.m. and Hope College at 11:15 a.m. on Monday in Kissimmee, FL.
