MYRTLE BEACH S.C. -- After the Fredonia State baseball team tied the game a 3-3 in the top of the fifth, Hartford scored seven unanswered runs to pull away for a 10-5 victory in on Monday. The Devils tacked on a pair of runs in the final inning.
Tucker Schwab was the only Devil with a multi-hit game, going 2-4.
Garrett Stuckey and
Tyler Curtis both doubled and had two walks apiece.
The Devils used five pitchers, with
Morgan Zientara going 3 2/3 innings, giving up four runs and taking the loss. Freshman
Connor Burkestone made his first collegiate start, going two innings.and giving up two runs.
Defensively, the Devils were able to get themselves out of a few jams, turning three ground-ball double plays. Unfortunately, Hartford was equal to the task, turning three of their own.
Hartford is now 3-3.
The Devils fall o 3-2 and take on Lesley College at 9 a.m.on Tuesday.
