PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's lacrosse team came up just short on Saturday, as the Devils dropped a heartbreaker to Plattsburgh 11-10.

Leah Kunisch put the Devils up 1-0 scoring the games first goal. The Devils would score two more unanswered goals to take the early 3-0 lead. Plattsburgh responded by scoring 2 straight goals to draw within one goal. Both sides scored one more time to close out the first quater with the Devils leading 4-3. 

The second quater was all Plattsburgh as the Cardinals scored four straight goals and held the Devils scoreless to go into the half up 7-4. 

Fredonia State battled back in throughout the third quarter and tied it up at 10 apiece off a goal from Megan Karalus. However, it didn't take long for Plattsburgh to respond and go on to win the game 11-10 thanks to Cynthia Barnosky's goal late in the fourth quater. 
 

Fredonia State drops to 4-6 on the season and 0-3 in the SUNYAC. Emma Cockerel and Audrey Brown led the Devils in scoring with two goals apiece.

The Devils will play at home next on April 3, against Buffalo State. First draw is set for 5:00 p.m.
