Pellechia vaults past the competition on 1st day of SUNYACs

RESULTS
BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Sophomore Cara Pellechia claimed her second consecutive SUNYAC Indoor Pole Vault Title on the opening day of the conference championships held at Brockport. It was her third overall title as she claimed the outdoor championship last year -- she will look to repeat that feat in the upcoming outdoor season. Pellechia's height of 3.50m was also an AARTFC qualifying score. It bested her previous personal best of 3.40m.

Haley Lerner finished fourth in the same event, clearing 3.20m.

In other events, the women's distance medley relay team of Liz Gloss, Vanessa Ryhal, Kevina Drennan, and Arden Brown ran to a sixth-place finish. 

Kira Davidson turned in a 9.56m in the triple jump. 

After Day 1, the women are in fifth place . The two-day meet wraps up on Saturday.
