OSWEGO, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team earned a hard fought come from behind victory against the Oswego State Lakers Friday evening. The Devils would put together a impressive fourth quater by out scoring the Lakers 20-9 to pick up the 57-52 victory.
The Devils would enter the final quarter trailing the Lakers by six points. A massive block from
Renee Park with just over seven minutes left in the game would lead to a quick three pointer on the other end off a nice pass from
Mary Culeton to
Grace Alexander to draw the Devils within three.
Alexander would hit a driving lay up to tie the game up at 54 and
Allie Wandell would put the Devils on top off a put back shot off a missed fast break layup.
Caitlin Snyder would ice the game at the line after sinking a pair of free throws as the Devils would go on to win their 12th game of the season and seventh in conference play.
Alexander would have a career night for the Devils finishing the game with a game high 25 points netting four triples and four steals. Snyder would chip in 10 points.and Wandell would finish right behind her with nine points.
Wandell and Culeton would lead the Devils in rebounding with 10 rebounds each.
Oswego was lead by Giavanna White-Principio who would score 19 points and had 14 rebounds. Zhane Holmes would hit three shots from downtown to end the game with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Shania Iglesias would add 10 points as well.
Fredonia State closes out the regular season Saturday, February 17th on the road at Cortland with the game scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
