HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's basketball team fell at Houghton, 72-57, on Wednesday evening. 

Grace Alexander led the Blue Devils in scoring with 13 points, adding 7 rebounds. Payton Gilbert added 10 points and 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.  Jayssa Snelick added a career high 12 points. 

The Highlanders had four players in double digits, led by Hannah Farley with 17 points and 5 rebounds. 

Both teams finished with 47 rebounds a piece, but shooting was the difference. Fredonia State finished just 31.5% from the field, while Houghton was 41.8%. 

The Highlanders stay perfect on the season at 7-0. The Blue Devils fall to 4-4 on the season. 

The Blue Devils are back home on Saturday at noon to take on JCC.
