CANTON, N.Y. -- Canton would score the first four goals of the game, and eventually take down the Fredonia State men's hockey team, 6-4, on Friday. Following a power play with 2:06 left in the third, the Devils made it a one-goal game, 5-4, before an empty netter by Canton provided the final margin.
Dillon Schmidt,
Johnny Ramoundos,
Xavier Fortin, and
Luke Morris all scored for the Blue Devils, with Morris connecting on the power play. Schmidt added an assist, and
Nolan Ring had two assists.
Charles-Anthony Barbeau made 32 saves in goal, while giving up five scores. Kelson Hooper made 30 saves for Canton.
Niko Schoner had a hatrick for the Roos, who improved to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in the SUNYAC.
Fredonia State now stands at 2-5 and 1-2 in the conference. The Devils head to Oswego on Saturday for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
