HAMBURG, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell 89-84 at Hilbert college on Wednesday. The Devils controlled the action in the early going, but Hilbert came back and pulled away late in the second half to secure the victory.
Brandon Kulakowski had 20 points and 11 rebounds for the Devils, and
Martin Garza added 18 points.
Keenan Roberts Jr. had 15 off the bench.
The Devils led by as many 18, up 45-27 late in the first half. Hilbert would eventually tie the game at 78 with just over four minutes left to play. They would outscore the Devils 13-6 down the stretch.
Hilbert was paced by Shaheem Ellis with 26 points -- one of five Hawks in double digits. Larry Moore had 17 points and 13 rebounds. They outrebounded the Devils 41-34.
The Devils hit the road on Saturday, taking on Grove City College.
