CANTON, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State volleyball team split two SUNYAC matches over the weekend. The Devils came up short at Oswego on Friday losing 3-0 and emerged victorious on Saturday over Canton 3-1. Fredonia State record is now 11-16 and 4-5 in the SUNYAC. Fredonia State finishes in seventh place in the conference standings just narrowly missing the post season.
Friday, Nov. 1
Oswego maintained control of the match winning the the first three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-18.
Kylie O'Brien led the way with 8 kills.
Maeve Musielak added 5 kills. At the service line O'Brien,
Erin Callahan and
Olivia Boswell each had two aces.
Molly Cassidy had 14 assists and Boswell added 10.
Kailea Sullivan finished the match with12 digs with Musielak adding 10.
Saturday, Nov. 2
In game two, the match results read 25-14, 21-25, 25-18 and 27-25 in favor of Fredonia State.
Kylie O'Brien paced the Devils offense with 20 kills and six aces.
Erin Callahan had three aces with
Kailea Sullivan finishing the match with two. Defensively for Fredonia State,
Hannah Lombardi had five blocks and
Sullivan had 12 digs. Boswell had a team high 22 assists with Cassidy finishing right behind with 19 assists.
The Devils are back in action on November 8, 2024 in a match up at Keuka College with game time scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
