FREDONIA, N.Y. -- In a tightly contested match, New Paltz used a penalty kick by Alex Wyant in the 85th minute to escape with a 1-0 victory. New Paltz outshot the Devils, 16-9. Jack Phelan made six saves in net fo the Blue Devils.

Fredonia State falls to 6-5-2 overall and 1-2 in SUNYAC play. New Paltz now stands at 6-4-1 and 2-0-1.

The Devils play host to Buffalo State on Wednesday.
