FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Cortland Red Dragons scored late in the first half, and would make the goal stand up as the game winner in a 1-0 win over Fredonia State on Wednesday.
Cortland (5-0-1 SUNYAC / 7-2-4) broke through when Simone Neivel scored in the 41st minute off an assist from Katie Cosenza.

Abby Szymkowiak had a busy first half, making eight saves. She finished the day with nine stops as the Devil defense limited Cortland's offensive attack in the second half.
For Cortland, Kristen Spendal made seven saves for the shutout. Cortland held a 21-18 edge in shots.
The Devils (2-4 SUNYAC / 7-7-0) will travel to Potsdam on Saturday.
