CANTON, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's hockey team battled SUNY Canton to the end, but the Roos would use a pair of late e=mpty netters to drop the Devils in a 4-2 game.
Johnny Malandruccolo scored his second goal in as many games.
Logan Dyck made 38 saves in net, allowing two scores before the empty netters.
Conner O'Brien score 10:53 into the first period to give Canton a 1-0 lead. Neither team would find the net again until Malandruccolo tied the game with his fourth goal of the season at the 7:07 mark of the third. He was assisted by
Ryan Bailey -- his team-leading sixth helper -- and
Antoine St. Onge.
Nic Herringer would make it a 2-1 game in favor of the Roos with an unassityed, empty netter at 18:24 of the third. Jackson Drysdale score the final goal at the 19:06 mark.
Trey Miller had 26 saves for Canton. Both teams were 0-1 on power play chances.
Canton improves to 5-12-1, while the Devils drop to 3-11-0.
The Devils will take on the same Canton Kangaroos with a 1 p.m. puck drop on Saturday. The start was moved up three hours due to the incoming weather.
